Going to be picking up one of the new 13 inch MacBook Pros to do some video editing on the road.
The base model for the Touch Bar ones has a 2.9GHz dual-core i5 and 8GB of RAM.
If I'm editing 1080p video in Final Cut Pro X, which of those two specs slow down my process first? Going to 16GB of RAM would cost $200, while going to a 3.3GHz dual-core i7 would add $300.
Is either worth the money for me?
This is nothing professional. Just editing 5-10 minute personal travel videos for fun. If I really get into it after a couple years and step up to 4k or lots of after effects, I'd sell this laptop and move up. I just don't want to spend a ton of extra money on something that I may not end up using.
tl;dr... which would slow down video editing first... a 2.9GHz dual-core i5 or 8GB of RAM?
Thanks!
