Why does BitDefender system scan skip so many items

I did a full system scan this weekend, and it took like 2.5 hours. Then today, I tried to do another, and it skipped so many files that it only took 10 minutes. Thinking this was glitch, I upped on-access scanning to aggressive, and repeated the system scan. Same result. Any clue why it is doing this?

Maybe it remembers you did a full scan a few days ago.
