Alright, so I spent the last hour editing my new video and now I'm not sure why but when I render it as a WMV file to my desktop, and then it goes to 100% straight away and doesn't actually render anything because when I open the file, there is just a black screen with no video there. I'm rather confused. I'm using the default settings and it worked this morning on my notebook. My computer is a Windows 8.1 Intel i7 laptop and has not failed me before. What's happening? I'm new to Vegas and am really confused

This is just a guess (because I've had it happen before) but do you possibly have a sliver of video marked as a looped region? If you do, all it is reading is the looped region and the video takes a micro-second to render. Just a thought.

I know this is a bit late but did check the in and out points and/or work area bar before rendering?

It seems stupid in retrospect but it turns out that I had "Render Loop Region Only" selected :/

Try it in MP4, WMV sometimes is a little buggy - also make sure your rendering the video inside the yellow bar <--- i know that part seems obvious, but rendering in MP4 fixes alot of problems.
