Why is my cache drive not being used? How can I best configure it to optimize my storage?

This is an updated version of my last thread. However, you don't need to have read the last thread for this new thread.

I have a Lenovo Y500. It came with a 1 TB regular drive and a 30 GB SSD drive. How can I optimize it to speed up my PC most effectively?

Is installing windows (8) to it the best idea?

Right now, it appears to be largely unused, with less than a tenth of a GB being used at all times.

I also don't want to do anything that would void my Lenovo warranty.

Be thankful yours is A) showing use and B) mSATA.

I have a Y410p with a M.2 30gb cache ssd - as far as I can tell it is completely unused, and until more M.2 drives show up it is not worth replacing it with a larger (to use as an OS drive) SSD.

Can anyone let me know what my options are for using my cache drive and how I would go about implementing the option(s)?
