Hello,
Why is my Sharp Aquos 120Hz TV getting only 60Hz performance? I have it connected to Comcast HD cable through an HDMI connection and have made the required adjustment to the motion enhancement setting to get 120Hz performance.

Standard 1080i is only 60hz (59.94hz), and 720p is also 60hz. Your television's motion enhancement will up it to 120hz, but the source is still only 60, therefore the input display will only show 60.

TLDR: You are getting 120Hz if your motion enhancement is on, the set simply displays the signal it is receiving.

Hi,

I was wondering today why my new Sharp Aquos 120 hz TV displayed only 60 hz. I called my cable provider (Rogers, in Canada) and was told that although the TV was 120hz, both of their digital boxes that could be used with their particular plan were 60 hz, which explained the 60hz displayed on the TV screen. Perhaps that could be the answer for your situation?
