Solved! Why is only one core of my processor working

i recently reset my acer aspire 5100 to factory settings now it only registers as a single core processor and before the reset it said dual core.it is a amd turion 64 mk 36.

Perhaps in the BIOS, you have a setting that that tells the system how many cores your CPU has. And in the factory settings, the default is one.

You sure you have the right CPU model? Everything I am seeing is saying that the MK-36 is only a single core CPU.

yeah apparently it is only single core but i dont understand why my system info had it as dual core before i reset it.anyway thanks for the reply.
