Will this computer be good for me?

I will be buying a new laptop soon. I need it for school and Minecraft and Netfilx. I mainly live in the cloud, not buying movies. Will the MacBook Air 11" with 8GB RAM, 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, and 128GB of PCI-E based solid state drive storage be good for me? Or should I go for the $1300 base model Macbook Pro with Retina Display? I love that gorgeous display. How will both of these play Minecraft?

they should play minecraft okay but the macbook air 11" is small for gaming. macbook pro would be okay too. However none of those computers are the best deal. Whats your max budget?

Right at $1300. Should I consider the $1300 iMac? I really want a Mac for the build quality and I HATE Windows 8. Metro UI sucks.

Have you considered building your own desktop? You could build a better or similar desktop for under $1300. Also btw theres a program called classicshell http://classicshell.net that makes windows 8 metro ui to the old start button ui. Or you could install linux ubuntu.

I thank you greatly for your input, but I need something at least remotely portable like the iMac (Can carry it with some effort). I don't think that I could go back to a non-Unix based kernel. Do you think that this would be good for what I want? http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/imac its the $1300 one
