Will this power adapter work as a replacement?

I have an Asus EeePC 900 (at least according to the label Asus puts on the back of the device) that's a few years old, and the cord of the adapter connecting to the Eee PC side is starting to open up and will probably break off in time.

I'm trying to find an adapter the is compatible but have no inkling about electronics and wattage, etc.

Here's what's written on the back of the Eee PC:
Asus EeeP PC 900
Input: +12 === 3A, 36W

(the others are Japanese and some logos)

The adapter I saw at the shop lists this:

PWA-015-DA(DC-SAD-0901) Laptop Power Adapter for Eee PC Laptops P290
Input Voltage: 110V-230V 50-60Hz
Input Rated Current: 1.6A
Efficiency:>88%(TYP)
Output Power: 40W
Output Voltage: 19V/2.1A
Overload protection: Yes
Short Circuit Protection: Yes
Ripple Noise: 500mV
Line Regulation: 1%
Load Regulation: 1%

Would this work to replace the original adapter?

Thanks.

I always would recommend that you get a genuine AC adapter for these electronic products. There are a lot of cheaply made adapter out there and I would not recommend that you risk it.
