Win 8.1 shift does not work? Unable to log in while password has special marks!

Please help!

My mother´s laptop has Win 8.1 which needs a password with special marks etc

Now shift would not let her write the password!

Please how can I help her?

I have used to help via TeamViewer but now it is unimpossible while she cannot log in her HP laptop!

I only can quide her by phone from miles away.

Please how to quide her!?

I found one in my drawer,
do you think it would work with her closed laptop without drivers..?

I mean just to add it to a free Ubs in her laptop?

Normally I quess all USB mouse etc need a driver which will be search by
Windows after Windows notices that a new device has been found?

I might post this keyboard to her address.

The other thing I am scared for, allthough her laptop has a security programm F-Secure
is there any chance that the laptop would have been "hijacked"
and therefore would be unable to log in?

She told be that some updating was going on and suddenly that laptop started to repeat some word,
which I unfortunatelly cannot remember, started with letter s

She had tried to shut down win 8.1 but laptop did not respond and she was forced to take off the battery.

After all that unable to logg in and unable to write her password which contains
numbers, capital letters, lower case, and special marks.

yes it will work, even without driver. after she log in to windows will detect it and install and driver. well run a scan with malwarebyte's see if it detects anything.
