Solved! windows 10 laptop connected to tv via hdmi, keeps going to sleep after 1-2 min of inactivity

i have to log back in every time...

nothing works, changed the display settings, updated drivers... no driver malfunction, power saving mode is off, tv is fairly new, hdmi cable is new and good quality, laptop never had this problem before

tv stays on but laptop goes into sleep mode
laptop also shuts down when I turn off tv

Did you actually change the sleep settings?

Try this...

1. Go into "Control Panel" and click the "Power Options".
2. Next to the plan that is currently selected click "Change Plan Settings".
3. Now click "Change Advanced Power Settings".
4. Open the "Sleep Setting".
5. Now change all options you wish to change in there.
6. When you are done, click "Apply" and then "OK".
