Windows 7 doesn't recognize the Ipod?

Operation System: Windows 7 Ultimate

A friend of mine has a problem with his Ipod Touch (3g 32GB).

Recently his Ipod stopped being recognized by Windows, and it seems to be due to a faulty update of Windows.

If it's not because of the update, it is still annoying and he just can't transfer anything from/to his Ipod.

Any help please?

Did he try plugging it into the back USB port on his comp instead of the front? Sometimes my computer does dumb things and makes me use a different USB plugin.

He did try plugging it to different USB ports and with no success.

Fortunately, the Ipod started working properly again, after Windows had 5 updates, that apparently fixed the problem.
