Hello folks!

I recently managed to set up my second hand laptop with windows 2000 and 98. Both go well except 98 has resources conflict problem. The double PCI standard IDE controller conflict with "motherboard resources" at 8060-806F while ati rs300 host bridge conflict with the same crap at D8000000-D8000FFF, ati smbus conflict with "DMA controller" at 0000-000F. IDE controller conflict is grave cause that make the DVD ROM unusable. The system is P4 northwood with 512m ram and using ati rc300m/rs300m chipset. The model is a ncs dcy30-15 laptop. Anyone has a solution on this?

If drivers are not available for Windows 98, then they sure won't exist for 95. If you have XP, use VMware player and install 98 as a VM or buy an antique laptop that supports 98. What could you do with Windows 98 other than boot it?
