I'm currently trying Disk Drill and also downloading Disk Drill kit. Disk Drill for Windows is absolutely free for 500MB recovery. Unlimited recovery = the Pro version of Disk Drill for Windows ($49).

I would stick with the free unlimited Ultimate boot cd. It has easyUS plus a whole lot more recovery and cloning software.

Give the free version of this a try. https/www.piriform.com/recuva It has helped me recover many lost files over the years. It works great.
