Hi,

I have windows 7 Home premium and I have a creative audigy 2 sound card I have 4 computer speakers. I can play videos and have them come out of 4 speakers all videos of any kind you tube avi etc. I can't however Play Music files Like flacs or mp3's and have them come out of all 4 speakers. I can't play flacs at all on windows media player at all. It's the media player that comes with windows 7 I think it's 12. Comet, winamp real player I can play the Music Files but the sound still come out of only the fron't 2 speakers. Can you maybe direct me to a codec or something that may fix this?

Thanks Kinnyr90

To hear surround sound (4 or more speakers), you not only need a surround-sound card (which you have), the media file you are playing must have been recorded in surround sound too.

If an audio or video clip was recorded only in stereo (ie two sound channels) , you'll only get sound through two speakers since there is no sound signal to send to the other speakers.

You can't fix it with a codec as it's not a codec issue. It's normal behaviour.
