Windows not using the inbuilt Intel GPU?

I recently did a upgrade to windows 10. Earlier the laptop used the Nvidia GPU only during gaming and editing but now it constantly uses the nvidia GPU even while doing day to day stuff. Which lowers the battery life (not by much but still it does). Although it still can detect the intel series gpu but somehow it does not use it.

Have you installed the drivers for the inbuilt GPU along with the other drivers?
Also open your intel GPU software and look into the power category and set it to Balance or maximum battery saving.
