I have a Windows (10) Store app running on my laptop. When I close the lid, the screens goes black and monitor is disabled. Yes, I have already told it to "Do Nothing" when closing the lid. Everything is technically still running, but the screen does shut off. The problem is, when I open the lid, the app complains saying something along the lines of "Make sure the app is visible as Windows Store Apps are only allowed 1 second of background CPU time."
This is happening on three different laptops. All three are different models, different processors, different brands. The "Do Nothing" option for the lid does... something. I am confident if the option actually did nothing, and the screen didn't turn off, the app would continue running as it should. None of these are multi-monitor setups. I simply want the screens to stay on, or at least be able to trick Windows or the store app to think it's on. Can this be done?
