Windows vista not reading any external storage drive

my windows vista home basic is not reading any external storage device like pendrive, external hard drive etc. but it reads my mobile, camera etc. wha can be the solution.
 
Try this:
Use the F8 key at power on to get to the Advanced Boot options.
From that menu choose Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

Does using that option allow you run your external storage devices?
