Hello,
is it somehow possible to set automatic page numbering in Word 2003, so that every document that is created is page-marked? I suspect something has to be changed in normal.dot template but don't know exactly how.
Thanks.

Save your existing normal.dot as normal.dot_OLD
Create a blank document
Apply the page number footer as needed
Save it as normal.dot

That should work.

That has been a thing since Word 1.0

Thanks, but that's not what I've asked. I want that Word automatically numbers my doc's page numbers, without manual use of the command, and that it does that for every document I create.
