I think you'll probably have to write your own program, or convert the file
to something that can be read.

Have you tried converting it? Is there something specific that doesn't work
that is the problem? There are some enhanced spreadsheets that offer
additional functionality-

SpreadCE, http://www.byedesign.freeserve.co.uk/

Planmaker http://www.softmaker.de/pmp_en.htm (but they haven't answered an
email to support that I sent 10 days ago).

I think there's another one but I can't remember its name.

Alan: I don't see any unanswered e-mail from anyone going by the first
name of Alan in our support box. Can you tell me under which mail
address you sent it and to whom you addressed it?

You don't have any unanswered email from anyone named Alan that is 10 days
old, you seem to be saying you do have other unanswered emails of this age.

Anyway, the source header from the email sent to your organisation on 4th
June:
The message was about your uninstall routine failing, leaving *all* the
files on the ppc but removing the uninstall option on the PC. Your install
method doesn't include anything in the remove program dialog on the
ppc..........

Every e-mail that is yet unresolved (because for example, the customer
has reported a bug and it has either not been confirmed yet or because
we are awaiting additional information etc.) remains in open status. So,
yes, of course, we have "unanswered" (= unresolved) e-mails from 10 days
ago.

Your e-mail has in fact arrived and it has been marked as "resolved"
because it was answered by us in our discussion forum. (It seems that
you both posted and mailed.) You should receive a notification by e-mail
every time someone answers to a thread you participate in.

Shall I reopen the case?

No Alan Smiths there.

Alan:

No, I can't because that post would have been in the beta forum (not the
regular support forum), and the beta is over and the forum removed.

If, as you said you didn't post there, your e-mail was incorrectly
marked as "closed". I am sorry about that and apologize for the mistake.

I have reopened the case and you will receive a reply by e-mail soon.

Correction: We _did_ in fact send you a reply on June 6 at 10:29 but we
didn't find it at first in our e-mail folders because you had your reply
set to your spamstopper.co.uk address.

Here is the e-mail:

<<<
Hello,

in this case you have to delete the following folders:
\Program Files\SoftMaker
\My Documents\SoftMaker

There are some entries in your start menu you can easily delete when
navigating to
\Windows\Start Menu
and delete the entry you don't want to have anymore.

If you have any further questions please let us know or post your
question to our forum:
http://www.SoftMaker.com/forum
>>>

Is your spamstopper address valid or was it just set by accident?

Thanks for replying.

That doesn't really answer the question though.

Yes it will remove the way you start the program but it doesn't delete all
of the application files and registration entries which are left on the ppc.

The question was how do you uninstall the program from the ppc when all that
your uninstall routine has failed, and all it has done is remove the menu
items on the PC, but left all of the installed items on the PPC untouched
and in place.
I could delete the program and menu items manually I guess but that would
leave registration entries? I didn't want to try this without getting your
advice showing how to fully remove the program correctly as things could be
left over that could cause future issues.

Well, it first answers the question where our original reply went --
into the bitbucket. Today, our new mail to your spamstopper.co.uk
address bounced, so I have to assume that this address doesn't even
exist. Kind of hard to reach you when you set Reply-To to something that
isn't there ... :)

Also, your inquiry was about a beta version, and it is quite often that
stuff doesn't work in beta software. After all, that's what beta testing
is for.

To answer your question again, PlanMaker doesn't place any stuff in
weird folders like many Windows apps customarily do. By deleting
\Program Files\SoftMaker, \My Documents\SoftMaker and the icons from the
Program folder, you have removed all files that PlanMaker's setup has
placed on your Pocket PC.

Best,

-mk

Additionally:

As I said in my email 16/06/04 16.10
'I could delete the program and menu items manually I guess but that would
leave registration entries? '

I have now checked the registry and have found that there are in fact many
registry entries made in addition to the items you have said. You have cut
my posting from your reply and not responded to that question.

The registry entries easily seen include:

HKCR\IPlanmakerDocument
HKCR\IPlanmakerApplication
HKCR\Planmaker.Document
HKCR\Planmaker.Application
HKCR\PMP
etc.

Can you please give a list of *all* of the keys that your program makes so
that these can be properly removed from my registry
