So, Cable is expensive, and up here TWC has no competition (Verizon FiOS not yet available in Rochester, NY).

If I drop cable and just get a set of rabbit ears, and subscribe to HULU plus, what would I be losing besides on demand channels? I have never used HULU plus so no idea how good it is. All I know is Netflix sucks.

FYI- I do not DVR or subscribe to Premium channels (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime).

I dropped cable 3 years ago. Have not looked back since. I use hulu plus, netflix and amazon prime. Granted I dont get everything...but it is good enough for me. And I save tons of money.

Have you checked what is available, and if that satisfies your needs.

Where I lived I used one of the amplified flat panel indoor ant - worked OK, not great - but location is everything for OTA.

I just need to make sure HULU Plus has enough content to keep the old lady happy. If it weren't for her I'd only have OTA. Thanks guys!

Hmm, thanks Chief. Now, what could I do for my wife? She watches the music choice channels to stream music videos and such. Is her only other option youtube?

If she only wants the music no video, options like LastFm is good. If she is into crappy pop music you have to pay the price intellectually and in the wallet.
