XPS 15 vs Aero 15

I'm looking for a new ultrabook, right now landed on choosing between:

Dell XPS 15 - i5 7300hq, 8gb ram, 256gb pcie ssd, gtx 1050, 4k screen: $1500 CAD

Gigabyte Aero 15 - i7 7700hq, 16gb ram, 512gb sata ssd, gtx 1060, 1080p screen: $2000 CAD

I'd like to be able to at least play most games I don't care about settings but ideally this will be replacing my PS4 (I don't game lots but like some low end and AAA games). Would an ultrabook with the MX150 cut it? Then I could keep costs down.

Is the Aero worth the extra $500?

If not, what's my best choice between the aero and xps?

$500 CAD converts to $390 USD. Considering you get the i7-7700HQ, 8GB more RAM, 256GB more SSD capacity and the GTX 1060, I would say the higher price sounds fair... not great, but fair. The question is do you want to spend $2,000 CAD? The biggest boost in game performance will come from the GTX 1060.

The mx150's performance is more or less between the GTX 950m and GTX 960m. I would say it is possible to play many AAA games at 1080p using low / medium graphic settings. Click the link below to some benchmarks of the mx150, GTX 1050, and GTX 1060.

If you can afford to buy Aero 15, Go with it, with extra $500 you are getting better CPU and better GPU with 16GB of RAM which is much more better than Dell. So YES it is worth buying

Dell XPS 15 is a high quality product , long battery life and business grade build , cant be compared to Gigabyte notebook.

also it has slim bezels , it has the size of 14 inch notebook while giving you 15 inch screen

you can look for XPS 15 with i7 as well for $500 more.
