[Y410P][Please Help ASAP] 750M SLI + Screen Upgrade?

I haven't been able to get an answer for two of my questions:

1. Am I able to, in any way, upgrade my horrible 1366x786 resolution to that of a higher one? I've tried this already with a screen I ordered off of laptopscreen.com and the display was all messed up after installation (lines, off centered, etc).

Is there any way to upgrade my Y410P's resolution?

2. Can I use a GT 755 Ultrabay graphics card to go along with my GT 750 in my Y410p? If not, is there a GT 750 I can purchase for the ultrabay on the Y410P?

Please answer ASAP, as I am in a.. sticky situation.

You have to ask the manufacturer whether a 1080p screen will fit.

A GT755 will not sli with a GT750.

It would help if you provided the laptop make and Model. And a link.

The laptop is a Lenovo Y410P, model # 20216. It is the one with the GT 750M, not 755M.

I am more concerned about the resolution than the SLI.

I do not require a FULL HD display, just at least 1600x900. The screen fits perfectly (the one I ordered and returned), but it was discolored and offset. I thought it would work but I guess the laptop has to be configured in some way before installing a new screen?

Yes, there are models of the y410p that feature a higher res. screen. My warranty is out so there is no chance of returning this and purchasing a higher resolution model. What I seek is a screen I can purchase and install myself.

I've contacted Lenovo regarding this and they keep suggesting I buy the higher resolution model (tactic to make money) , but I have heard there are ways of self-installment.

OK, then if they won't let you have a hi-res screen then you can't get one. And your only alternative is to buy a whole new laptop. That's the beauty of a pc - easy to get parts.

I found those numbers for the screen in the Hardware Maintenance Manual for your laptop, It's up to you to try one.

It does say to make sure you use the same resolution screen.

I give you the informations that I found, I know your laptop will work with those screens, because your laptop has two channels for the LVDS. You have the connections from the GPU and the ribbon to use the 1600x900 screen. I don't have the datasheet for the LG screen, so, I can't compare the two I was referring to. I helped other people on this site for upgrading their screen, depending on the configuration of their laptop, sometime it's not possible to change the resolution of their screen. You tried with a screen, the number of that screen you tried was one of the numbers I gave you?

This is the screen I tried to use before, which did not work. It is the 3rd one down on the list.

Maybe that's why Lenovo said no. None of the other screens will work. I think you should give up on the idea.
