It was a nice search engine. Before Google, if you knew how to use the filters, it was the best way to filter out junk websites

A few years into the Google era, gave Altavista another try. The results it found for me were far from what was expected. I almost cried.

I feel I was the only one (that I knew of), that still used it, so I understand why.

And I had no idea Yahoo owned it either.

Sorta reminds me of when aol ruled the world too...
