Yamaha RX-V381 receiver

i own a Yamaha RX-V381 receiver. I can connect all my input devices like my cable box and apple tv. I was testing my son's new playstation 4 and hooked it up to the Yamaha, and now it no longer will recognize my cable box. I have disconnected the playstation and re booted everything, and theYamaha still shows the Playstation 4 and no cable box. What gives and how do i fix this?

TV should be plugged into the white/light grey HDMI out port, all other devices should be plugged into the 4 input hdmi. Then from the front you should be able to select what input you want to display to the tv.

Yeah, AVRs are like TVs switching between HDMI channels so should be able to switch to which HDMI channel the cable box uses on the AVR.
