Good afternoon to those of you more intelligent than I :)

I found this site because of another thread that appeared to address the question i have but looks as if the posting individual did not need the solution and it was not achieved. I have a single HDMI output on my laptop and want to connect 2 VGA only monitors from my previous setup to achieve an extend desktop across three screens (One laptop, two monitors) anyone have a solution to this?

More information: I have laptop with 1 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI port. i have two VGA only monitors. i have a USB to VGA adapter and a tech from the manufacturer suggested an HDMI to VGA adapter in conjunction with the USB to VGA adapter i have, but i was looking for an 'all-in-one' type solution

thanks!

vga/d-sub is analog only hdmi is digital only I think you will need a active converter to do that and that's no guarantee

I see what you're saying.

it appears that the best case scenario that i can find (and what you pointed out) is to use an HDMI to VGA adapter AND a USB to VGA adapter separately and get the "3 monitor" extended desktop output i desire. obviously you can't split the output from a single USB port or a single HDMI port into two outputs and achieve extended view. I'm still open to additional solutions. thank you!
