Anyone with information on TCM getting mapped for 4DTV?

There is a rumor that the analog signal on W3-14 is going away at the end of
the year--but it is not substantiated. There is also a west feed that is on
G1, but it is not available for 4DTV viewers.

Our best hope is that NPS will authorize this signal on the HITS X4
satellite if it goes away on analog.

The rumor about TCM going digital can be traced to the latest issues of the
OnSat magazine. According to OnSat the analog signals on W3-14 will switch to
digital on Dec. 31st. I do not know where the publishers of OnSat got their
information.
I have sent an e-mail to Turner Classic Movies concerning this matter and have
yet to receive a reply. I will post any information that I get concerning this
possible change as soon as it is known.
Hope that others with information about this will also post to this newsgroup.

Looking at the generic feed this thanksgiving weekend.
They are on three seperate digital channels. For them to be on more then
one,all with the same programing, sets me up to think some testing is going
on.
Malcom
PS So I don't get jumped on again. "THIS ONLY MY OPINION."

That reasoning sounds good. On what three digital channels are you seeing this?

Generic CE channels 383,397,398.
These are open key during the thanksgiving holiday, much like the analog

Not sure what "mapped" means, but you'll find TCM on W3-14, but it's not
free.

I do not have a 4DTV receiver. Do I understand you correctly in saying
that you are viewing TCM on W3-14 in digicipher and that your unit mapped
this particular channel? Does that mean that TCM will provide a signal to
homes? Thought that TCM had not committed to a signal for 4DTV. Thought
about buying a 4DTV receiver but TCM plays into my decision. Things keep
changing so much that you just cannot keep up.
