I've been shopping for a new 4K tv and surround system. I've researched as much as I can myself, and most of it make sense, but I can't make sense of this. I'm looking at the Samsung 4K SUHD JS8500 120hz 55" hdmi 2.0 tv. I'm also looking at the Onkyo HT-S5800 5.1 hdmi 2.0 system. Here's where I'm confused. The Onkyo is advertised as "hdmi 2.0 60hz 4K compatible". Does this render the 120hz on the JS8500 useless? I looked at the 60hz JS7000, but heard the 120hz makes for a much better movie viewing experience. Does the tv translate the 60hz coming from the Onkyo to 120hz somehow? I just don't want to waste money on one piece of hardware when another piece of hardware limits what it can do. Please help me make sense of this! Thanks.

The Onkyo HTS is HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 compatible so it should work fine for you. I would guess that the Onkyo will only pass through the video without any processing and let the TV do that.
To be 100% sure I would contact Onkyo and make sure.
