5315 shutting down by itself

running vista basic on my aspire 5315 and after a short while it just collapses. I think it is over heating chip but fan ok. is the chip faulty? it seems problem encountered by others on forum but can not access replies. If there is an answer please advise

i hope you are not blocking airways of your laptop by keeping on bed or in your lap without any space under it. That is most common problem when you get your machine overheated.
