Ok so over the summer I'm getting a new budget homemade computer because my laptop is... Well not the best to say the least and my monitor only has a Vga port... For part of my birthday present i am going to ask for a new monitor and i have a choice to make, Do i choose the LED display that has a 1ms response time and a DisplayPort(quite handy) and hdmi OR the IPS display with a 5ms response time (it doesn't have a DisplayPort just hdmi and all that). I'm getting it used so they equal to the same price point and so i have more money for my pc! A displayport would be nice because its a step up from hdmi and i play a first person shooter that my computer can handle but ill probably get battlefield one and overwatch on that computer! So a response time would be nice but with this pc i also want Quality so i cant decide what is better!
In case your wondering i will get either one of these used on amazon (they aren't on ebay)
Asus MX279H-IPS display thin bezzels-https://www.amazon.co.uk/MX279H-Widescreen-Multimedia-SonicMaster-Technology/dp/B00A4K9KBQ/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1463758797&sr=1-4&keywords=asus+27inch

Or
ASUS 27 inch VN279QLB - https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-inch-VN279QLB-Monitor-1920x1080/dp/B00DRPZ988/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1463760208&sr=1-5&keywords=asus+27inch

If you can suggest a better display from the british/UK amazon that i can buy USED for £100-150
i would highly appreciate it (preferably 27 inches)
So response time and displayport or ips?
Thank you

i would take the IPS display all day long. 5ms is plenty low enough and IPS just looks better generally...i can't look at that links cause im at work but are they both 60hz monitors? whats the resolution of both of them? display port vs hdmi at common resolutions really doesn't matter that much if you're doing a budget build.

The first has IPS, the second has VA, both are good panels.
For the same price I'd be going with the VA panel as you prefer FPS games so response times are also important (although that close.....)

it looks to me that they BOTH have a 5ms response time?

edit: yeah they both have a 5ms response time. check asus website

in this case i would probably go for the VN279QLB. its got a better stand and its an AMVA+ panel so it'll look close to or just as good as an IPS. the stand it comes with is just so much nicer. it also has a wider variety of inputs. seems to me that it was probably the higher priced panel.

hey remember this too...a larger screen doesnt exactly mean better picture quality. at 27 inches 1080p looks to pixelly for me personally. it is personal preference but i prefer a smaller screen at that resolution for the higher pixel density and sharper looking image.
