I have currently been searching online for a decent 11.6" laptop with at least 4GB of memory and a dual-core processor for basic computing needs. I will mainly be using it for doing my homework online and typing papers on. It would be nice to have a dedicated gpu but that might be asking a bit much, since I know integrated gpu's aren't usually the best for HD streaming. Budget isn't much of any issue but I wouldn't want to spend more than $1,000. Any suggestions? and if Acer is a good brand?

Hello slayinsoulja;

If your requirements are for just basic to average computing needs this could get the job done for you:

HP Pavilion dm1z 11.6" ultraportable laptop $420
AMD Fusion E-350 1.6Ghz APU, 3GB RAM, 320GB 7200rpm HDD, 11.6" 1366x768 LCD w/ Radeon HD 6310M graphics.
The HD 6310 is an iGPU but it's well suited for HD video streaming. 3.5lbs, 6.5hrs WiFi battery life.

HP Pavilion dm1z Review
It's not a multi-tasking powerhouse or speed demon but it should handle the work you need to get done.
