Hello, i wanted to buy a new laptop for my mother.
I wanted it to have the folowing:
1) 6th/ 7th Gen core i5/i3
2) Min 4GB RAM
3) Atleast 2 USB 3.0 and atleast 2 USB 2.0
4) 1080p Matte LED Backlit screen.
5) Could have an SSD or could insert an SSD atleast?
6) Not too bad build quality, but needs to be carried around.
It does not need to have the following:
1) A discreet GPU
2) An ethernet port
3) Touch screen
4) Not necessarily an IPS Display (but would be a good touch).
5) Not necessarily a great webcam (We already have a good Logitech one).
i have been looking for weeks on Dell, HP, ASUS websites, and always either the laptops were highly overpriced, or had an dedicated GPU in them, (Don`t really need the heat+weight), or had something lacking.
For example, why do laptops come with just 3 USB ports now?
My mom connects a USB keyboard and mouse plus an external HDD, it fills all of them.
Also, most of the laptops have real shitty 1366x768 screens.
I see a lot many available in the US stores. Is it really worth the risk ordering them from Amazon.com or HP online and then shipping them to India via a courier service? It usually adds about INR 5000 ~ 6000 + customs, but the cost in the US is as it is so low.
