Acer 4820TG Black Screen Problem

My laptop can only boot up into safe mode, in safe mode everything seems to run fine. When booting up normally, it loads the bios and the windows animation, after that its just has a black screen and plays the windows sound. After that, nothing happens. Would really appreciate some help

Doesn't sound like a display problem or hdd failure as it runs fine in safe mode. Could malware be the cause?

I wouldn't use the drivers Windows Update offers you. If you can, please download the latest drivers to avoid this kind of stuff.

Definitely. Currently downloading the latest beta drivers from AMD. Will update once its done

Still the same problem after repeating the steps but with installing the latest drivers. Am i supposed to wait after the reboot after installing the drivers?

No, it should just work right away. But if the screen keeps going black after installing drivers, it sounds as if there's something wrong with the GPU itself.

The last thing I would try before sending it in for warranty in this case, would be reinstalling Windows.

Will be doing a reformat when i have the time. Its out of warranty anyways, if the gpu is indeed spoiled, looks like i need to get a new laptop.

I've solved the problem. I switched the graphics settings in the BIOS to use Discrete only, after installing the AMD drivers everything works great now. Looks like my integrated gpu was the cuplrit, doesnt seem to be working anymore. Thanks to ThomasJ93 for all the help, really appreciate it
