My laptop can only boot up into safe mode, in safe mode everything seems to run fine. When booting up normally, it loads the bios and the windows animation, after that its just has a black screen and plays the windows sound. After that, nothing happens. Would really appreciate some help :)

Doesn't sound like a display problem or hdd failure as it runs fine in safe mode. Could malware be the cause?

By uninstalling them, you mean going into device manager, selecting display adapters and removing them? My current laptop has a dedicated and integrated gpu, remove drivers for both?

Alright, will report back once i'm done with it. Out of curiosity, would removing the video drivers cripple my laptop?

Looks like it isnt working again. First time it booted up fine, after the drivers installed it prompted me to restart. After the restart, same condition again. I didnt use driversweeper as i didnt really know how to use it, i used the device manager method.

So you didn't remove the drivers properly. There might have been something left from the older drivers, which got installed again. I'd download the latest drivers from either AMD or Nvidia (depending on what card you have) and install those.

Windows update seems to have downloaded a 2010 catalyst driver version of my integrated gpu. But, at the time when this problem happen, i was running a 12.x catalyst driver. Should i use driversweeper this time, and once my pc bootsup, immediately install the latest drivers?

To clear out the drivers, open up driversweeper, select ati-display, analyse, select all and clean? Cant seem to find an option to remove the integrated gpu drivers

Nope, only brands are ati, creative, microsoft, nvidia and realtek. For the microsoft one, it seems to be for mouse.

I've removed the drivers in DS, booted up fine, and installed the drivers via windows update. After restarting it after the prompt, the same thing happens again. I havent installed the latest drivers, only installed the windows updated detected 2010 drivers. I have really bad internet connection so i'm trying to avoid downloads at all costs. Looks like im gonna have to download the latest drivers
