acer aspire e1-472g, power led on, fan working, black screen

please help, my son needed this laptop badly, we just turned it off normally then as we power it back only the power led is lit but the boot indicator is not flashing. fan is working as well as the cd drive and the HDD( you can hear them both spinning), but the screen is black and as i've said there is no boot up since the boot indicator is not blinking. weve done everything as you said but none is working. please help...:(

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to try your laptop if it will boot up without it's battery.
- Remove the battery off the laptop then connect just the AC adapter and see if it will boot up and will stay on.
- If the laptop will stay on with just the charger connected that means it's the battery that is faulty.
- But if the same problem will persist without the battery that could mean that the AC adapter is faulty.
- Try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage or the same charger that you have and see if that will work.
- If a different AC adapter will still not work I would suggest opening the laptop and reseat the RAM's.
- Remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in...

i've done everything youve said. if thats going to be the case i will try the reflow on the gpu before making a change on the mainboard. Thanks anyway for giving time to answer about my problem.
