I bought my ACER laptop from walmart, it was on sale and I needed a new one. Seemed great, and it was fine for the first few months, but now youtube videos keep glitching like crazy. I'll click a video, it'll start playing, then the video it's self will freeze, but the audio will continue on for a few seconds or so before the video as a whole will pause and start buffering, and the buffering doesn't seem to stop. Refreshing helped at first, or pausing, clicking on a new tab or minimizing the window for a minute, then going back to play it and if fixes it's self. Now nothing seems to help. Another issue I've been having is the internet speed is a heck of a lot slower, and cuts in and out at random... how do I fix this problem without it costing a lot of cash, can I fix it myself? Though I am open to any and all suggestions.

If it helps I use google chrome, it's up to date, and windows 10 I do believe.

Well, there could be a resources issue. If you don't turn off the laptop regularly (many people don't) the resources you use don't get fully released. Also, if there is anything running in the background this can also cause that problem. So any program that starts when the computer starts takes away from the resources.

A virus or malware running would cause it as well. That is all software, there is also the possibility that it is hardware.

It may not be the laptop. It could be your internet connection. You need to check with your ISP to make sure there aren't any problems. And try checking your speed from multiple test sites to see what it tells you. It will also let you know if there is something interfering with the connection.

Also, try testing videos that are "on" the computer rather than those online. If ones on the computer run fine without problems, then it is definitely the connection. So again you would need to talk with your ISP.

If they say there is nothing wrong (which is standard practice for many of them to just say it is you) try using the laptop on other WiFi connections and see if the problem goes away there. If it does, it is definitely your ISP. If, however, you get the problem on other WiFi connections as well, then you may be having WiFi card issues. In this case you would need to either replace the internal card, or get yourself an external (USB connecting) WiFi card.

I will talk with my ISP, although I had this issue again yesterday at my friends place. Plus it seems the audio is having issues of it's own, because when I was traveling without wifi, I decided to open windows media player to listen to some songs I downloaded for the ride. There's no video to mess up, but the audio still glitched out, I don't quite know how to explain it, just that it's buggy and sometimes if it's a youtube video it'll slow down the video as a whole for a minute as it glitches. I'll be checking the audio and video drivers to see if they're up to date (my dad's suggestion). If that isn't the problem, and the wifi isn't it either, I don't know what else it could be..
