My aspire laptop has been upgraded to Windows 10. I have the latest video driver as verified by the Acer website. The control panel is set for maximum (recommended) resolution, but a number of programs tell me that I need to change my screen to a higher resolution as the current one is too low to allow the program to work properly. I presume a program has locked the screen resolution somehow, but I don't know what to do. Several program windows need the higher resolution, as they are too large for the current setting. The computer uses Intel HD graphics. When I open the Control Panel - Adjust Screen Resolution section, a warning triangle shows alonside the message 'your resolution is lower than 1200 x 900. Some items might not fit on your screen. The Display box says I have a Mobile PC Display, the Resolution box is set to the recommended 1366 x 768 and orientation is Landscape. Any help gratefully received.

Go to max resolution (Windows's "recommended" isn't always the best). 1366 x 768 is far better than 1200 x 900 since some apps might not fit properly on a 1200x900 screen.

Could you give me your laptop specs? do you know exactly if 1366 x 768 is indeed supported by the monitor?

Hi TechyInAZ,

The specs clearly say that max resolution is 1366x768. Graphics control panel says the display is set to this, but programs keep saying resolution is below 1200x900 and I cannot see how to change it

Huh, could be a driver issue. Try updating your graphics drivers.

Hi again, TechyInAZ,

According to the ACER live action website function, I already have the latest graphics and audio drivers installed. The numbers quoted on the website also match with the numbers of the drivers installed on the machine.
