alienware 17 psu problem (help please)

i just bought an alienware 17 2015 model and i have noticed that gpu (r9 m290x) has very bad performance and very poor results in userbenchmark! after i checked everything and changed drivers too many times without any improvement i figured out that in bios settings ac adapter says 180w and my psu is 240w. also i see that inside power jack a plastic part is missing! my question is if i change the dc port (i already order) will the problem with psu watts and gpu performance been sovled or i have to check for something else?

Hard to say , because the power delivery comes from a Laptop Style cord. People sell them because they aren't very upgradeable and are proprietary.

what do you mean by that? is gpu performance due to the low wattage psu provides to it?

Not saying that , but due to it not being standard ATX POWER is harder to gauge.

i will start by changing the power jack that i already know something is broken inside of it and i wish power will raise to 240w and make laptop's gpu works again as it must! any other suggestions for this problem? what other things i have to check or causing the low performance of the gpu?
