App data restore without after update, same phone and OS.

The app in question is a game, Asphalt 9. Been playing for 2 months and i cant connect the game with Google Play Games because I'm living in China and using XiaoMi Mi 5, even with VPN.
Recently the game got updated and i cant update the game with an error said different application signature, i know the problem but couldnt solve it. I modded the game APK by removing the license of the game, no idea what license it is but it is needed if i want to play the game from here.
Problem is, i cant update the game without uninstalling the game and by uninstalling the game i'll lose the app data. How can i transfer the old app data to the updated one without losing it?
Recently i managed to make google play service work on my phone, the whole google apps thing. if that information helps.
So can anyone please help me with my problem?

by any chance is the phone rooted? if so then you can back up the game data to your ssd card and then restore it. done this before myself many times.

if you're not rooted then i know of no way to do it.
