out of topic: Die spammers, Die!!

If only people spent as much time and energy against the true evil-doers, the ones who overstep their rights for personal gain...

On topic..

Yes apple were right to pull this app!, but it does not let them off for letting it on in the first place!

Now Off Topic!

[citation][nom]dogman_1234[/nom]As a Christian, this is grey in the head for me. I can understand having an app to teach people that homosexuality is wrong, but not 'cure' it.My opinion is my faith, do not criticize me.This is not a Christ-like thing...telling people they need to be 'cured' of their sins.[/citation]

I have lived on both sides of the fence, literally, I am now happily married with children! I was raised Roman Catholic, I was an Alter Boy in Church, Our Priest got caught doing things to boys! I do not follow a set religion anymore, I have my own belief system and faith! My wife knows everything about my past and accepts and loves me for it!

Only lack of experience and a lot of blind faith in what you are taught and the mindset of the environment you were brought up in (your parents, peers and schooling mindset) will lead you to say that homosexuality is wrong! And is there a cure----NO!
It just happens that some people may have at some point in their lives a change in how they think about themselves and who they are and what they want, and how the experiences of their life have helped determine where they are at that specific time!

Notice how I am not saying you are wrong, but I try to understand instead how it is that you think it is wrong! Faith and religious indoctrination are two different things, and the people I have met who understand that are amongst the most religious and faithful people you are likely to meet!

Homosexuality is as normal a thing as Heterosexuality, there is no difference! Love and lust, Caring and Abuse happen exactly the same irrelevant of the Sexuality! What makes it right or wrong in all cases of sexuality is consent!

The only person who really gets it is Happy Christian Guy

Regarding religion and who is right and who is wrong....Just wait your turn, you'll see in the end.

Regarding the pulled app, Apple has a right to decide what they will allow of their platform. Their device, their rules.

The good thing about tech is that consumers have MANY options. If you don't like something, you can "vote" with your money and feet.

Last, bashing others for what they believe or not is a waste of time. Agree to disagree and move on. Talk tech here, not all of the other nonsense, please.

I have no problem with people citing whatever crazy beliefs they might have. What I do have a problem with is when those lunatics and their damned beliefs infringe on the rights of other people. Homosexuals have been repressed largely due to religious reasons for the last who knows how many years. The fact that the argument "God did not intend one man to give BJs to another man" is still being used to prevent legalizing same sex unions in a country that supposedly separates the church from the state is just completely baffling to me.

You clearly missed the point. People are revolting over the fact that these idiots are promoting the fallacy that homosexuality is "curable". As long as this fallacy continues, gays will NEVER free themselves from political and religious oppression.

And are you kidding me? Do you have any idea how many times religious organizations have filed complains and petitions against all sorts of things that they claim to "repress religious freedom"?

Apple, stop acting so non-straight. When is wormy Apple going to ban all the anti-heterosexual apps? Never! If the app is pro gay, it is a-ok. If the app is pro straight, go m******bate. Oh, I forgot Apple has an app for that is not banned. Non-straights will NEVER be happy because 2 non-straights will NEVER legally produce a baby (except in China) that contains genes from both non-straight parents. You can change human laws all you want. You will NEVER change the laws of science.

[citation][nom]nevertell[/nom]People don't choose to be gay, they just are. You chose to be a christian, that's you're choice, and I can criticize that.[/citation]

Bull**** - the day you say you just *are* and don't or didn't have a choice, is the day you give up free-will.

I may disagree with the lifestyle they choose for themselves, but they chose it. I will never believe the bullcrap people spew about not having a choice. IMHO that means they are ashamed of their lifestyle and are looking for an excuse to be "gay". IMHO there is no reason they shouldn't be proud of their CHOICE. And many are.

I'm certainly not the type to push my religion on anyone... but I find it odd that this app is receiving so much attention. I mean everywhere you look on TV and in ads homosexuality is being pushed without too much resistance. So this app comes out and everyone's crying foul. At what point did our current society stop listening to both sides of an argument, and start squashing differing opinions? In fact, I think that's extremely hypocritical of the gay community. JMO

My new band name. Called it!
It's strange that a "gay cure" app would make it far enough through the process at Apple it would need to be revoked. Are they in denial of demographic of their customers? Would a "hipster cure" app make it as far as the "gay cure" app did?
* I would buy an iPhone and the "hipster cure" app just to support the developers.

[citation][nom]Richard of Pen Island[/nom]Well of course they pulled the app, if apple fanbois start getting cured of homosexuality they will all end up going out and getting android devices and ditching the crapple, not good for business given the target market of apple devices.[/citation]
+1

as for this fight over faith and other icrapple stuff, the sooner you realise religion is the root of all evil; as evil can not exist with out good and good cannot exist with out evil. instead of labeling people as right or wrong or evil or good, you should try to read the book of a persons life rather then judge it by it's cover.
if you're jewish, christian or what ever that believes in adam and eve, mankind fell out of good graces and was forced from eden after eating the forbidden fruit, and everything since then has been nothing but sin, so how is it books written by men of sin can be fit to label good and evil right and wrong?
if god wrote the bibles, the printing press would never have been invented.
i think the golden rule pretty much covers everything that ever needed to be said and should be the only thing printed in any bible:
due unto others as you would have done unto yourself~ christ

Everyone is missing the boat on this one.
- Yes religion is ridiculous
- Yes it's okay, normal, and even natural to engage in homosexual activity if you choose. If nobody is getting hurt, it's not unethical.
- Yes the app is absurd, worthless, and missguided (most things inspired by religion are).

But what about freedom of speech? You don't have to download it if you don't want it, but you should be able to download if you do. Freedom means supporting the rights of others to say/do things that you strongly disagree with.

Religion isn't just wrong; in most cases it's simply evil. Religion is nothing more than yet another way to control the simple minded and naive. Instead of thinking for yourself, and god forbid using a little logic from time to time, just go ahead and believe, and in turn, act on everything that your told regarding a religion and you will be rewarded in the end, regardless of how mindless, wicked, and destructive those actions may be for you and unfortunately for those around you.

I actually see no legitimate reason why this app was pulled.

The app is obviously intended for people who don't actually want to be gay, because if you wanted to be gay, you wouldn't be buying an app to "cure" you.

Additionally, comparing the app to a racist or anti-Semitic app is a complete failure in basic logic. The only way they would be comparable is if the racist app was about how to cure yourself of having a race, etc., which is, of course, absurd.

The gay "cure" app is, in essence, a self-help app. There is nothing wrong with trying to change yourself, especially to make yourself, as you see it, better.
