Aspire 5733 not booting with housing on

Hi, I've got a weird fault with an aspire 5733 laptop well i was given this laptop not long ago was not working as they dropped it down the stairs and wouldn't turn on anymore. i tried to get it to work but nothing happened so took it apart to see if anything was damaged and thought i try it without the housing on (housing is damaged badly) and it booted up no problem but won't work with the housing on

Any help to fix this??

what casing did you remove as in all, bottom or keyboard area?

Well this shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Is obvious isn't it? The damaged housing is touching/shorting something. You are going to replace it anyway right, so get a proper housing, BAM!
