Hey, I was wondering if you guys could help me with finding an extension cable for my headset.

Sorry for asking a dumb question but if I bought a normal 3.5 mm extension cable, would it support my microphone too?

It would be great if you guys could help me find a relatively cheap extension cable that would support both sound and microphone.

Thanks!

It would really help if you described the existing cable. I found this on Astrogaming's site:
The new Mobile Cable plugs directly into the headset via a 3.5mm 4-pole jack and offers an in-line microphone, an in-line mute switch, a volume control wheel, and a call/pickup/tracking button.

If that's the case, a standard stereo 3.5mm plug extension cord won't work, because you would need a four-conductor version. A search like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=3.5+mm+4+pole+extension+cable&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 , and a result like this, http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-MUHSMF2M-Position-Headset-Extension/dp/B008DWGLLO , would help you. I am not endorsing that product. However, look at the image of the plug. It has a tip...
