Hi, I have an Asus k53e
that had a non soldered pentium b960 cpu.
The laptop was sold and came in a few cpu configurations, and one of them was the i7 2670QM.
I know that both of these cpu's have the same socket (bga988)
Yet the max TDP of the pentium is 35w when the i7's is 45w.
My question is if I can upgrade my cpu to the quad core i7 one, considering the difference in the power demand.
And if it can't be done, does it mean that the units thet were sold with the i7 cpu were designed differently to handle the 45w more power and cooling demanding cpu's?
