I had a co-worker give me an ASUS K60i laptop that needed refurbishing. I went through the internals and everything looked good. When I boot it, it doesn't seem to recognize the CD/DVD drive or an external USB stick with Windows 7 on it. Obviously I haven't set up the Intel PXE ROM boot. I've replaced the memory, set the BIOS back to factory defaults, and when I set boot order to CD/DVD ROM first, it seem sto recognize and try to read the disc(s) (I've tried a few) then goes to PXE then tells me to Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device. I'm getting frustrated. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Roy

Yeppir!! I've tried an OEM bootable Win7 CD/DVD as well as one I burned from an .iso image and they have both worked previously on other systems. The USB was created with Microsoft's Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool. I'm at a loss and I am so ready to throw this thing out the window. I've never had this many problems putting an OS on a laptop.
