ASUS notebook freezing ramdomly

Hello everyone,

I'm new on Tom's but i already check out a lot of foruns about my problem.
I have a notebook ASUS model.: A42F, with the following specs:
-Core i5 460M;
-4GB DDR3 memory;
-500GB;
-On board video Intel HD graphics

Well, the description of my problem is that the laptop just freezes sometimes by nothing. I have a last view of the screen "freezed" and the audio repeats the very last loop. Buzzing sound and locked froze screen. That's.
Looking for solution I see that when i'm olny at Battery suply it don't freezes! So I decide to change my baterry charger, but the problem persists.
I'm thinking about changing some hardware, i'll start with a memtest today by i probably will have to change video card or chipset.

What do you think guys? Have you seen this kind of problema arround? Please, i need help.

good luck changing video cards and chipsets! they're soldered guaranteed. Its an old laptop for sure, i recommend first checking if its the hard drive. common faults do resort to the hard drive. if that fails, try the display. Is it working right? Does it display proper colors? Also check all cables are plugged in, sometimes its just a simple cable thats undone from some accidental drops and knock abouts. If none of these work, i think its time for a new computer. (or replace your entire mobo if possible)

Well, its everything ok with cables and video colors. Before starts changing IC's i want to test mem, HD, internal connections, slots everything. It's cheaper than buying another mobo but i'm afraid to need change it
