Solved! Asus pops on boot up

Hello, recently my laptop began making a pop sound like instant messaging notifier sound on start up before windows starting logo appears any ideas on what it is and how to stop it? i suspect tracking cookie..noel

You computer definitely shouldn't be making any sounds before windows starts up, except for maybe a *beep* when you first turn it on... so, definitely not a pop sound... maybe it's more like a *click* sound? in which case it could be your hard drive indicating that it might be dying soon... but i really can't think of anything that would cause a laptop to make a pop sound.
