Asus X401U locked in bios screen loop

Asus X401U restored to windows 7 factory settings from windows 8, now laptop wont boot after loading updates
Keeps rebooting and will not go past bios screen. Is he windows boot loader corrupt?

Try booting in Safe Mode. If it starts to load Windows then reboots, it's likely a driver issue.

If installing Windows 7 worked, do that again, do not run Windows Update first, rather go to the ASUS web site and get the drivers for the system. Chipset, video, audio, etc... Then run Windows Update.
