Asus X540l wont stay on

My Asus X540l wont stay on - its charging fine the lights are all on but it only stays on few a few seconds and then shuts down. The longest I have managed to get it to stay on was about 15 minutes but then it shuts down again, It has a non removable battery so can not try taking this out!! I really need the laptop for business and cant figure out whats going on. I have checked the settings there is no sleep timer activated on there. Help

If my "non removeable battery" only means you can't see it, it becomes removeable if you open the case. The problem could well be the battery so it will have to come out one way or the other.

I have the same problem with my asus X54OI. I have tried almost everything but i haven't gotten any solution to it. The laptop keeps coming on and off without any command. Kindly help me out

When you press the power on button, does it feels like it springs back up or remains fully depressed?
