So I bought this laptop a few months back from Best Buy. 2-3 weeks after I bought it I got a blue screen.I brushed it off and figured it'd be a one time occurrence. Occasionally after it had given me a few blue screens, which had concerned me since it was a brand new laptop. Tonight I was transferring a huge number of files between the laptop and an external hard drive, when around at 60% it gave me blue screen and instantly shut down. After that, the laptop didn't want to seem to turn on at all. I was able to get it booted up a few times, but it either froze at the Asus logo or gave me another blue screen once I got past that. Won't even turn on now.

First BSOD stop code : DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION
Second BSOD stop code : KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED

Anything I can try before I take it back?

Solution
Since that is often triggered by either a bad hard drive or a bad graphics card/GPU, I would just contact the place of purchase or the manufacturer.
