Looks like that one has 1 slot for RAM and can be upgraded to 12GB total. I do not think they make 12GB RAM modules so my guess is there is 4GB on the motherboard and you can add up to 8GB to it. Easy enough to find out though, pull the bottom cover off (go to the ASUS website for the manual if you need help) and see what RAM is in the slot. That laptop has 8GB from the factory so if there is a 4GB module in there then you know the other 4GB is on the motherboard. Regardless, if you are thinking of upgrading, don't bother with RAM. an extra 4GB won't make much difference. Instead, put that money towards a Solid State Drive... it will make the laptop fly.
