Model: asus x55c
OS: windows 7 home basic 64 bit
RAM: 4GB
SSD: Transcend 128GB recently installed.
Problem 1 - When laptop is started the power light, hard disk light and number lock lights are working but there is no display for around 5 minutes. Then automatically lights reset and laptop starts loading windows and everything is normal. So why does it take so long for windows to start?
Problem 2 - When you restart after updating then only power light and hard disk lights are on. This time number lock light is OFF. And now the laptop takes too long to start. Some times 15 minutes to 20 minutes. After this time duration the lights automatically reset and windows starts loading and everything works normally.
I feel there is some setting in BIOS which I have by mistake disabled or enabled. I am not sure. I tried installing winflash bios update from asus website but I get a message "The permission is too weak to install this program"
Any help is highly appreciated and lots of thanks in advance for the valuable time spent in providing a solution.
{PROBLEM SOLVED.}

I downloaded Winflash BIOS updating utility from asus website after selecting my product model i.e. asus x55c. Also downloaded BIOS update file. Installed the Winflash BIOS (a simple software which runs in windows OS which helps you to update BIOS). Please install the WinFlash BIOS utility even if the setup says as x86 (it means 32 bit) whereas the system is of x64 (i.e. 64 bit). On proper installation you will see the software in the start menu. I selected it and ran the BIOS update utility and it asked for bios update file. I selected it where I'd saved it after downloading from asus website and selected OK. I got a message that the file you are trying to install is older to the version which is already installed in your system. On that day I also got few updates from windows which I installed automatically. Finally when after couple of days I opened my system it started the way it should start i.e. without any time gap and now in 30 seconds maximum the OS gets loaded (one reason is the SSD) and the laptop is ready to use. I feel trying to update the BIOS corrected some corrupt BIOS files and hence the problem got solved.
